After word of Catholic riots in the Kaiser Reich and Italy have reached the ears of Acruan, protesters against Catholic rule of the Papal States have marched through the major cities of the nations. Over half a million have mobilized through the entire nation.
In the capital, 50.000 protesters stood in front of the National Building demanding that something is done about the absurd declaration of having a 'crusade' in our region in such modern times.
Pro-war Council Member Rael al-Ma'mum "The Pope has gone paranoid with war. Though I, personally, greatly dislike the Church and State in the Papal Sates being the same, that alone is not the reason why today I will vote in favor. He has abused his power as someone who guides people and We, of Acruan, cannot allowed someone like him expand his rule."
No opposition to the war was found in the National Council, however in the Selected Assembly, 3% of the representatives have voiced their dislike towards a declaration of war against the Papal States due to religious reasons. A small protest against any kind of war against the Papal States happened in a few of the most Catholic cities in south-eastern Acruan. Forces from the Department of State Security were sent to the locations to avoid civil unrest as mobs began to lynch the Catholics.
After yesterday's Council and Assembly meetings, Ruler d'Arasoi announced, "Dispite our membership in the European Confederation, we cannot let a government oppress their people. We will send forces into Belgian Papal States, but Catholics of Acruan, we will cause no harm to churches or civilians. Our only intent is to ensure that citizens of Papal Belgium will not be oppressed by a government that does not represent them."

Today, after a long meeting with representatives of the Papal States, communist leaders from Papal Belgium and the Chancellor Adolf Alfred from Northern Germany and a call to the Pope, Major General Jah Morri was able to negotiote with the Pope the annexation of Papal Belgium into Acruan.
Dispite Belgium being annexed to Acruan, the factories will not be seized and will remain controlled by their previous owners. They will still have to follow our labour regulations, and we will act if laws are broken.
Over the month, the new citizens should get themselves registered, and the ones over 14 should register get themselves barcoded until the end of the year. Hospitals and public restaurants should be openning for the new citizens until the end of the month.
The annexed area will be our 6 state. The communist leaders will be representing the Belgian interests in the People's Selected Assembly until next years elections. Major General Jah Morri will temporarily occupy the position of Council Member representing Belgium until a permanent representative is selected.

Elections Now Almost every year, for the last 40 years, in this month, a special bill is submited to the Central National Council, and every year, it has not passed. The bill was one that basically proposed elections for the Central National Council. This year, the bill failed to pass through the Central National Council once again.
However, this year marks a new era for Acruan. After the bill didn't pass, it appeared signed back at the People's Selected Council with two signatures at the bottom; one from the National Council Member Jah Morri and the other one from Ruler Marcus d'Arasoi Archene.
With that, the bill was unexpectedly passed1. Not until yesterday, when the People's Selected Council met again, that the news were shared with the rest of the nation. At the end of this very month, elections will be held for all the 6 Acruani states.
On a side note... According to surveys on Western Belgium, the government approval rating went over 60% after the bill was passed. Though another survey also said that about 50% would have no problems becoming part of France if there was no chance of a civil war happening there.
1According to the Acruani law, any bill signed by the Ruler will automatically pass regardless of the number of signatures it got in the Assembly and the Council.
